When I was visiting Japan, it was winter. There were still quite a few places where the snow way covering the nature, especially in the igokudani Yaen Koen area, which is a few hours north of Tokyo. The walk up to the place where the monkeys are bathing in the warm spring water was quite slippery because of the ice covered path, but we arrived there after a little while. It was great to see the monkeys interating with eachother and hanging out near the steaming water to warm up their bodies. There were also a couple of monkeys with babies, which was really cute to see. This mother was holding on to her child tightly when they sat on the edge of the pool, and I just had to take a picture!
