Description:

When walking on the beautiful golden beaches at Abel Tasman National Park, I saw these birds walking by and basking in the sunlight. I was able to get quite close to them to snap this picture. I later found out that its name is the Pied Shag, and it's native to New Zealand.

There are an estimated 5000 of these birds, and they mainly feed on small fish, makes sense why they were hanging out by the ocean!
